Supporting the likes of Sly Withers, Shag Rock, Noah Dillon, Lucy Peach, Dulcie, and Ghost Care, the band are fresh from their debut nation-wide tour following June’s LP release, including an unofficial showcase at BIGSOUND 2023, as they currently work on the deluxe version of Sweet Melancholy. Continuing to grow as musicians and winning over anyone who loves a catchy melody, an honest story, or shreddin’ guitar lick.

Originating from the rich indie rock breeding ground of Kalamunda, Western Australia (The Panics, Snowman) is alt-pop outfit Dolce Blue, a band who have created their own brand of indie-pop meets alt-rock that is sweet (Dolce) with a hint of melancholia (Blue).

Consisting of high-school friends songwriter/ front-woman Veronica Zurzolo (she/her), bassist Daniel Taylor (he/him), guitarist Lachlan Casey (he/him), and drummer Brody Honey (he/him) the four-piece have an undeniable chemistry bound from years of friendship and a love of music. Forming as a band officially in mid-2018, the group have a knack for crafting ear-worm melodies with meaningful lyrics, releasing their infectious self-recorded and produced debut single New White Sneakers in late 2018, followed by their epic 13-track (also self-recorded and produced) album Forever Is Too Long early 2019, a sadder heart-wrenching EP Always Blue in 2022, which features tracks such as Nobody Asked and TV, over the past three years have been peppering singles Summerwave, Dream Catcher, Nothing Bad, The Finest, and most recent single Valentino in the lead up to their sophomore album Sweet Melancholy released 23 June 2023.

X Press Magazine

“Dolce Blue are a remarkably special band, if you haven't come across them already. The four-piece specialise in this blend of melancholic and sweet indie-pop; detailed with swaying melodies and rich, yet often-intimate lyricism that blend together to create hazy bursts of alt-pop and indie brilliance, something they've consistently shown ever since their debut a few years ago.”

Pilerats

“Driven by the entrancing vocals of Veronica Zurzolo and backed by the breezy, summery melodies of fellow band members Lachy, Daniel and Brody, the four piece produce a beautiful sound reminiscent of earlier works from Alvvays and Best Coast.”
